Why the Octave Mandolin?
An Octave Mandolin is a mandolin tuned down one octave, to a pitch range more akin to a guitar. Whether I’m playing picked Irish tunes, like on a mandolin or banjo, singing songs like on a guitar, or backing tunes like a bouzouki, my Weber Octave Mandolin is like bringing three instruments with me to every gig. The warm tone is a perfect accompaniment to a fiddle or voice, while the double strings and open tunings allow for a beautiful voicing of traditional Irish tunes (especially slip jigs, if I do say so myself).

You can find me pretty regularly at NYC-area sessions like Moriarty’s (Sunday, 4-7pm, McLean Avenue), Grace’s (Wednesday, 8-11pm, 14th & 8th), and with Cat and Fiddle Sessions at The Hutton (Sunday, 5-8pm, Jersey City).
Additionally, as a multi-instrumentalist and NYC native, I am often called upon to put together duos, trios, or other groups from the best that NYC has to offer. We travel with sound and lighting where appropriate, and can tailor our set to fit your needs. Get in touch if you’re looking for Irish music at an upcoming event!
